I began this collection of portraits as an assistant to Peter Turnley for his New York Street Photography workshop in June of 2021. My intention in the creation of this collection started as simple documentation the people of New York City to practice my portraiture. In time, creating this collection has brought me closer to my city through intimate portraiture leading to powerful conversations. One thing I always consider when looking at these portraits is my gratitude for the access granted to me by so many strangers and my attempt to honor them.
